
Karim Saber is a guitarist and composer based in London, who prides himself on his command of the instrument and creativity. Karim regularly uses his skills as an improviser to contribute to a wide variety of creative music ensembles and is currently collaborating with pianist Alex Wilson (UK) as part of a duo project, pianist/composer Lukas DeRungs (Germany) as a member of both his quintet and KOSMOS SUITE large ensemble, as well as leading his own band- the Karim Saber Quartet which features some of the brightest young improvisers in the UK. He is steadily building a profile as a performer on both the domestic and European scenes and has performed at many notable venues including the Vortex Jazz Club, the Camden Jazz Café and the Roundhouse. He is currently working towards recording his first album of original music, which aims to combine his passion for improvisation with beautiful, singable melodies.
Karim completed his undergraduate studies at Berklee college of Music (Boston), receiving the European tour scholarship and guitar department awards for outstanding musicianship, and is currently finishing an MA in Jazz Performance and Composition at the Royal Academy of Music (London). Karim is also an accomplished teacher, holding a teaching Licentiate from the Royal Academy of Music.
